    flat flexion deformity at the PIP joints and hyperextension of the DIP joints at the 4th and 5th fingers of the left hand..some limited flexion on the left thumb?

    also called boutonniere’s deformity..yes it can be flat by surgery

    this is an older gentleman. You younger RA patients don’t be so concerned about the deformities. There are treatments and medications available now that can slow or prevent such progresssion.
    I too have RA.

    hey. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis and look at what I’ve been able to do (check videos). Its not the end of the world. life goes on and life is more precious than anything.
