Stiff Or Flexible Baseball Bat Handle?

by L D M Stiff Or Flexible Baseball Bat Handle? The Stiff vs. Flex Handle debate is the centerpiece of the dispute between baseball bat manufacturers and a leading cause of confusion among baseball bat consumers. I wish Mythbusters had included this in their baseball special. At least they taught us a corked bat actually reduces batted ball speed. Here’s how to understand the rating for baseball bat handles. 100 is the stiffest handle rating and a handle with maximum flexibility will have a rating of 60. You’ll see ratings anywhere between these two extremes. Unfortunately, the majority of manufacturers do not provide the exact flex rating for their bats, just that they [...]

Will The Specific Carbohydrate Diet Cure Your Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Will The Specific Carbohydrate Diet Cure Your Irritable Bowel Syndrome? The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) has helped thousands of people recover from bowel problems, including Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Celiac Disease. But will it cure your Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Cell science researcher, Elaine Gottschall MSc, popularized the SCD in her book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle. Gottschall learned about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet in a successful attempt to cure colitis in her 8-year-old daughter. Then she did the science to figure out why it worked. The SCD is a way of eating that is gluten-free, grain-free, sugar-free, and almost completely dairy-free—only [...]

Open Question: Can someone please tell me if this info is correct?

Genetic Disease Rheumatoid Arthritis, or RA, is a condition that affects the joints causing inflammation and pain. Several determinants influence the vulnerability to RA. Rheumatoid arthritis is described to have autoimmune factors as well as genetic factors. An autoimmune disease is an illness involving body tissues being assailed by an individual's immune system. This involves RA and it can, although not completely proven, run in families. In attempts to find the main source of this disease, scientists have conducted studies and found some enlightening facts, but they can be confusing. Has anyone been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, but actually had Lyme Disease?

Question by Sarah Lou: Has anyone been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, but actually had Lyme Disease? I have had R A symtoms for 2 yrs. now, none of the well-known meds have worked. Today I was tested for Lyme. Best answer: Answer by DekayelMany many people have been misdiagnosed with RA when they actually had Lyme disease. My 16-year-old daughter is one of them. Let me warn you about the test you took today. Probably it was something called the ELISA test--and probably the results will be negative. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean you don't have Lyme. The ELISA is known to have a high false negative rate. I recommend you go to www.lymenet.org and click on "flash discussion." Here [...]

Protective Effects of Indomethacin and Cyclophosphamide but Not of Infliximab on Liver Metabolic Changes Caused by Adjuvant-Induced Arthritis.

Inflammation. 2010 Sep 28; da Silva MA, Bersani-Amado CA, Ishii-Iwamoto EL, Bracht L, Caparroz-Assef SMIn the study, indomethacin, cyclophosphamide, and infliximab were administered to adjuvant-induced arthritic rats to determine if they were able to prevent the abnormalities caused by arthritis on hepatic metabolism. The drugs were administered to arthritic rats, and at the clinical onset of arthritis (day 14 after adjuvant injection), the livers were perfused to evaluate gluconeogenesis, ureagenesis, oxygen uptake, L: -lactate, pyruvate, and ammonia release from L: -alanine. The effects of the drugs on body weight gain and the signs of arthritis (paw edema, appearance of secondary lesions, [...]
