This is my attitude, I reckon that yes there may be environmental reason, but I also believe that in the USA there is a lot of research done on these illnesses. It may be that there are indeed all of these in other less developed country’s but not diagnosed or reported. Medical care in sparse in most of those places. Here, at least medical care is pretty much assessable. Plus with all of the severe problems I reckon the focus is on that.

I believe that in the past, people just did not talk about it as much as now.We are in a new age of communication and there are more studies in the developed countries. Fibro was thought to be not a real ailment. The same is right for mental illnesses now. Dr care in underdeveloped countries is not up to ours by a long shot. Modern labs make testing and diagnosis more reliable, and new Diseases are being found and documented. The diseases have always been around, Just seldom reliable in diagnosis. There are soothe too many that are diagnosed through symptoms without actual waterproof clear testing. MS and Lupus are 2 of those. as well as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.. These soothe can only be diagnosed for sure after death.
Brilliant question! I personally have one of those newer diseases and it was at the start thought to be MS, then Lupus.

All of these are autoimmune disorders (Antibodies attacking our own healthy cells). I can’t quite remember where I heard this but here it goes…Because we have vaccinations to control major infectious diseases right down to influenza, our antibodies don’t have as much “work” to do fighting off these diseases that are prevalent and not vaccinated against in underdeveloped countries. Therefore they start to attack our healthy cells…just a theory…don’t know who started it. Don’t know the prevalence statistics.

Developed countries also have AIDS, malaria, diphtheria, etc. We also have lower infant mortality rates and live longer. And better health care and better access to that health care.

In less developed countries, people die before they get ancient enough to develop arthritis. And I’m sure they have fibromyalgia and lupus there too. But it’s undiagnosed. I’m sure when there is one doctor per million, they don’t have the time to do all the testing necessary, or even care, if some has fibro or not.

Fibro and arthritis won’t kill anyone. If an illness won’t kill someone, then the doctors in less developed nations have better things to worry about.
