    Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Numb, tingly hands… stiff, achy joints. Feeling as though they are going to sleep…

Try sleeping with splints on your wrists at night.

Hi HowieLucy… I have the same symptons and I don’t have an answer, sorry. I just wanted you to know that I am keeping an eye on your question too…thanks for asking it.

What I wanted to know, if it happends to you only in the morning or all day?

I have the same symptoms. I have tendenitius in my wrist. I have always assoicated it with this. I have been veteran for carpet tunnel and do not have that. Sometimes when i do too much all through the day, at the end of the day they feel like that. I notice the loss of grip mostly in the am. But it has affected me thruout the day as well. Excellent luck to you. The thing that helps me the most is when someone will massage my hands. It is hard for me to do it myself, but a massage, warm heat, and a small lotion even has helped me feel better. Do your hands swell at all?

aaah I remember seen something like that on TLC on that program where they show illnesses that doctors have a hard time to figure out.
On this case, a lady had something similar and she also noticed that even her knees started feeling stiff and her arms.
They did lots of tests on her and they couldnt find out what was her problem. When they did, it was too late, the illness had already affected most of her nerves.

Gosh! I wish I could remember what was the name of the illness

ow ow I found some info
but I dont reckon you could have this

  • susandorey:

Could be as other posters have mentioned, tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

It could also be rheumatoid arthritis, testing is not always accurate. But don’t stress over this, try taking fish oil capsules everyday and see if that helps.

As I read your question again you say your fingers are stiff with no grip but you don’t mention pain……do you also suffer pain and if so, where is the pain.

  • Gilbert65:

Carpal tunnel or tendinitis. You might have muscle atrophy/shrinkage if you dont exercise your hands or keep them in a brace all the time.
RSI injury Break the habit or addiction causing the repetetive stress injury.
If ya dont ya wont ever get better cycle.
Injury causes scar tissue on the tendons which is weak & fails making it of poorer quality.
Heres what my dumb Doc didnt tell me, how to tell the diff between muscle & muscle pain.
I figured it out on my own.
If ya very gently rub the muscle & it feels sore ya prob have tendinitis or carpal. Ice & rest the tendons.
Question dumb Doc for anti stirring pain med or use over the counter ibuprofin or aspirin, naproxen these reduce inflamation too.
Now gently rub the muscles in the hand & arm & near elbow, are they sore? If so apply warm heat then massage & wash dishes in hot water. Dunk the whole arm in the hot water for a few min for relief cool tendons after.
Cold only for tendons heat can inflame tendons.
Heat for muscles & before stretches. Dodge heat on tendons if you do heat tendons ice the tendons after by heat.
When the pain goes away, at once start execise with gripmaster, or modifiable squeeze grip, art clay ect.
